SUCI(C) conveys heartfelt congratulations to the agitating students, youth and parents in Jantar Mantar
Comrade Provash Ghosh, General Secretary, SUCI (Communist), issued the following statement on 21-07-26 “No government with conscience could unleash such brutal police attack on the peaceful and democratic agitation of the students and youth of our country in Jantar Mantar of Delhi yesterday. We denounce this inhuman barbaric attack of the BJP-led central government Now the whole world knows how the government has played with the lives of the students who were preparing to appear in the NEET medical examination, the question papers of which were leaked just before the examination was to commence, throwing the students into an ocean of uncertainty. The leaks were occurring for the last three years pushing many students to commit suicide out of frustration. The agitating students have been demanding that these nefarious acts be stopped, and the culprits be punished. Mr. Sonam Wangchuk came forward in support of these demands. In the face of the arrogance of the government, he took the path of fast unto death. When he was about to die, the government forcibly lifted him and sent to hospital. All these made the agitating students more angry, and they called for a Parliament March demanding the resignation of the Union education minister. The autocratic administration decided to stop the march and pounced upon the unarmed peaceful rally with lathis and teargas inflicting severe injuries to hundreds of students and youths. We condemn this attitude of the government and demand that it immediately accepts the legitimate demand of the students and youths.
