SUCI(C) demands withdrawal of WB govt’s notification on cow slaughter
Comrade Provash Ghosh, General Secretary, SUCI(C), issued the following statement on 17-05-26: The regulations regarding cow slaughter stipulated by the West Bengal State Government in a notification on 13 May 2026 can only be described as an interference in the religious practices of the minority community. As a result of this notification, the religious customs they have been following for generations will effectively have to be discontinued. Just as this notification has hurt and created commotion among the minority community, common people irrespective of their religious affiliation can in no way support it. We believe that this notification by the state government might disturb social harmony and peace. We strongly oppose this notification and demand its immediate withdrawal.
