A state level protest was held by the Socialist Unity Center of India (Communist) Party against the anti-people policies being implemented by the state government.
Under the aegis of Madhya Pradesh State Committee of Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), today on 29th August 2024, hundreds of students, teachers, youths, women, labourers, farmers, and people from all walks of life from various districts of the state protested in Shahjahani Park Bhopal against the increasing crimes against women and girls, handing over education, health, electricity and water to private hands and other problems of the common masses. Addressing the public meeting organized after the protest, Central Committee member and Bihar State Secretary of Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) Central Committee member and Madhya Pradesh State Secretary Comrade Pratap Samal said that the state government has a complete plan to amend the electricity law made in the interest of the general public and install prepaid smart meters for the profit of electricity companies. If this is implemented, then there will be darkness in the homes of millions of poor families of the state. In this difficult situation, the poor common working people of the state will be deprived of education, health and electricity, whereas a democratic government which runs on crores of rupees collected from the common people through various types of taxes. Then it is its responsibility to provide free education and health to all its citizens. So a big mass movement is needed so as to pressurise the ruling government to heed to the just demands of common masses.
