SUCI(C) vehemently condemns the brutal suppression of the anti-corruption youth movement in Nepal
Comrade Provash Ghosh, the General Secretary of SUCI(C) said today, "After the ouster of the notorious monarchical rule in Nepal in May 2008, 13 governments have come in last 17 years. As all the governments served the bourgeoisie in connivance with the foreign imperialists, none could meet the basic needs of the people. All the parliamentary bourgeois parties went deep into corruption. The severe unemployment problem is haunting the youth. Very recently, they have burst into protest against the corrupt Oli government. Viewing the wrath of the youth, the administration has banned social media, which has infuriated the youth further. The government let loose the police on the protestors. Their murderous attack has already killed more than 25 people and injured more than 300 persons. We vehemently condemn this heinous attack of the Nepal government on the youth and we demand that the government immediately accept the legitimate demands of the youth. We convey our revolutionary greetings to the struggling youth of Nepal and also convey our deep condolence to the bereaved families whose sons and daughters have given their lives in this struggle."
