Stand beside the heroic battle of the people of Nepal to protect democracy
Shri Provash Ghosh, General Secretary, SUCI(C), issued the following statement: The people of Nepal ousted the autocratic feudal monarchy and established a democratic secular regime through a prolonged arduous struggle sacrificing the lives of thousands and thousands of youths, women and students. In recent times, taking the opportunity of the inadequacy of the left ruling coalition in addressing the burning problems of people's lives, the reactionary communal rightist fascist forces are launching armed attacks aided by foreign imperialist powers along with Indian rightist communal forces to restore monarchy. The people of Nepal are in a resistance struggle under the leadership of the left-democratic forces. The heroic battle of the people of Nepal to resist this attack deserves support of all democratic secular minded people. In this context, we would like to point out that at the era of moribund capitalism the emancipation of the people will remain undone unless the socialism is established overthrowing capitalism. So the heroic battle be continued to reach its logical culmination that is establishment of socialism. We, on behalf of the people of India, fully support the struggle of the people of Nepal to thwart this conspiracy to restore monarchy in Nepal and protect democracy & the democratic system, and we call upon the democracy-loving people of the world to stand by the struggle of the people of Nepal.
